Admissions Office and Application Deadlines
GATS Admissions staff are available to answer questions and keep applicants updated on the status of their applications. GATS offers five start dates each year for terms beginning in August, October, January, March, and June. Applications should be completed six weeks before the start date of the student’s first term. A student with an accredited masters degree in a field other than Bible or ministry could complete the M.Min degree (with link) which includes the 30 hours of requisite, pre-doctoral program courses.
Admissions Requirements
- Applicants must complete and submit the online application, which includes an essay and two recommendation forms.
- Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. International students must have the equivalent of an accredited degree in their nation. Official transcripts of all post-secondary schools where coursework was completed must be sent directly by each institution to the Admissions Office.
- Applicants must indicate that they have read and understand the Statement of Faith.
- Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 out of 4.00 for unqualified admission. A GPA between 2.50 and 3.00 will be considered for admission on probation. Any GPA below 2.50 will require a written explanation and a student interview.
- For applicants whose native language is other than English, a TOEFL score of 550 paper or 213 Internet, or 7.0 IETLS score.
- The Admissions Committee may request the applicant to submit additional materials and/or schedule an interview with a seminary representative.
- The same application and registration requirements are completed whether a student plans to enroll full-time or part-time.
Doctoral Programs

Admissions Requirements
- Applicants must complete and submit the online application, which requires a resume’, a biographical essay, three recommendation forms (pastoral, academic and professional), and an academic paper that demonstrates abilities in research, critical thinking, writing, and citation.
- Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree and a masters degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Official transcripts of all post-secondary schools where coursework was completed must be sent directly by each institution to the Admissions Office.
- Applicants must indicate that they have read and understand the Statement of Faith.
